What them Clevely people done done

Monday was the start of school again. It was a horrible morning. I was tired and the boys were fidgety. We’ve started a new read-aloud called Strawberry Girl which takes place in the early 1900s in what was then still frontier-land Florida. The dialogue is written in such a way that I simply can’t help putting on a deep south accent, with which Aaron was most disgruntled (“Thar goes our cow, Pa!” said the little girl. “Shore ‘nough, that do look like one of our cows, now don’t it?”) School eventually ended. In the afternoon we went to the docks to say farewell to Scilla, the optometrist. After saying goodbye we drove around to Ruperts’ for what? Snorkelling of course! It was a lovely time of day although a little chilly when we got out. We showered the boys and washed their hair like really poor people who bath their children in the public amenities. Really though, it does save on electricity as we don’t need to have the geyser on in the evening!

I had to laugh a little at your trying to do a Southern accent. In our house, the Southern accents are easy - it's the British accents (of various sorts) that are tough!! Hope your week gets better.
