Going out on Faith

Usually public holidays don’t make much of a difference in our household as we’re all still at home and Nick invariably still has to do work. But today was different. We spent the day entirely at home in a very relaxed and enjoyable manner, and then hooked up with the South African yachters from yesterday. I made an Irish stew and rice for supper which we took along. Mike met us at the landing steps with his dinghy at a prescribed time and ferried us across (a little harrowing – I’m not so keen on ocean sailings in small inflatable vessels). Their yacht is a catamaran and very spacious on the inside, with two double-bed cabins and two ¾ bed cabins. I love how yachts are so compact and everything has a little place to go. We got there around 6 pm and chatted non stop until we left at 9. Mike and Karen simply bubble over with their excitement about God – it was so wonderful to have such sweet fellowship with people that we hardly knew! They have a 16-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son, both of whom are homeschooled. The yacht’s name is Faith, and literally, they are living by and on faith.
